it's that time of the year again.

the annual anxiety breakout.

in less then a month's time, some 13 thousand (just a rough guess) students will most probably be facing their worst times in their teenage years but then after dying in the halls of their schools, they will be sort of reborned after that. haha.

if you are still lost by me trying to activate your cued recall, then i am referring to the much dreaded and anticipated "O" levels for the secondary 4 and 5 students.

how about taking a minute to look back and remember yourself 1 year back from now? did you work your ass off or did you slacked throughout? well, all i am trying to convey is that there is always a cause and effect. if you are willing to input then you will get more out put. you get what i mean.

so good luck to

1)those preparing for their O levels, either mugging or slacking(they will need lots of it then).

2)poly students who are going to have hectic schedules when school reopens.

3)JC students whose promotion exams are coming round the corner.

discussed with lizzie abt mr lee and our blogs, but that is not really impt..

the main issue is the teachers and the new principal..

some teachers are quitting from teaching...

you have those who are retiring, respected Mr Ang, feared and motherly mrs sim..

(oh ya, mr lim, our vice principal, is on a principal course so he is not in CCHy le)

then miss ang is quitting..

rumoured is that mr goh is quitting as well...can someone confirm with me if it is true?

and mr lee just told me today that he is gg to transfer to a better school after he is discharged from his responsibility of his form class this year..but timing not confirmed...

all this teachers who are ever so kind and so helpful to us are quitting... you dun need me to spell out the reasons ba.. (but dun speculate too much)...

haiz.. wat is happening to CCHY? our beloved place where we grew up(fastest) at.. haiz..

no matter wat it is, we can't really change it.. cause these things are beyond our control.. we can just pray that things will change for the better because of dunno wat..

tonight's wind is strong and feels very cool, just like our prom night..

nostalgic feelings hits over and over again after you go to another level of education and you feel you dun fit in...

went to ruo han's blog and saw this pathetic link.. then went to click on it and saw that our prom blog still has it's visitors..

so i went to claim this blog.. and start posting to sort of revive it..

but i guess i dun have much stuff to blog abt on this blog..

out of all the topics in this world, i can only come up with TWO topics that can fulfil the purpose of this blog.. prom blog!

erm.. i think this is a post that not many pple will see..

anyway, i personally feel that the prom had lots of room for improvement..

i hosted the games badly... i know... but i have to thanks the pple who participated in the games so actively...these pple improved the atmosphere... or else i would see more pple leaving early...

pple who helped during the planning and functioning of thr prom, thank you as well... without the help and encouragement, we would have broken down real soon...

then still i saw pple who should not be present and turned up during the lucky draw... to these pple, pls dun come dressed so casually and un-invited(by yourself).. since you did not want to come to the prom as your 'friends' backed out... are there no other friends in other classes? CWs...

to all the pple who came to 'the prom'.. thank you...

erm, the distribution of the prom tickets was quite sucessful today... around 93.589744% of our 78 guest(current total number) came..

first,
sorry to jessie and chai chin. coz i made you come to mac after your tiring chalet trip.. then i didn't pass you the tickets coz of some communication breakdown...pai seh!

those pple who neither did not turn up to collect the ticket nor ask their friends to do so for them(like roche,hui min,zell,yu qin and chun keat), your tickets are with me... i will hold on to them for you until that night before passing it to you..

first of all.

from now onwards, WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY MORE BACK-OUTS to ensure the prom will run smoothly.
but we still can accept more pple coming to the prom.
let the BTSs know BY TOMORROW(last day for the confirmation of the number of guest is friday,set by the hotel upon our request for you.)

secondly,linking from the first.

tomorrow ( 23 November ), FROM 1100HRS TO 1600HRS, pui yee and i,ong lai, will be seated in the McDonalds at Northpoint.
we will be giving out the tickets for the prom. you will be refused entry without a ticket.
no pay, no ticket. no ticket, no entry.
in an unlikely case where you can't go the prom, you can just sell your ticket away.
we will leave exactly at 4pm, so pls come within this time slot to collect the ticket.
you can collect the ticket on behalf of your friend/friends.
but we'll need to call them infront of us to show that you're not lying.

the actual program list is not finalised yet but a rough program is out le..
still need to reconsider cause i last night think de...still need to work on it...

we will request that all will come at 1900hrs..
then the programme will start at 1930hrs..
first up,opening video(i may need pple to help with this.. volunteers?) and games..till 2030hrs..
dinner will commence from them for a duration for one and half hour..but in the middle we will some performance(still deciding on wat)...
at 2200hrs, it wil be the lucky draw and crowning the prom king and queen..
until 2300hrs, all will be allowed to wander around..to chat, take photos and such..

that is a rough program.. still need to fill up the question marks and re-arrange the time a little bit..so will be subject to change...

i notice a trend recently..

initially every is so into the the prom then so how,pple start to lose interest in it...

if it is because the BTS can't cough up a programe list during the o lvls period,i am sorry and hope you can understand why..

if the problems is that your friends are not gg then you also wanna back out..pls tell them now got 14 seats avalible.. so you can ask your friends to come as a group le..

for those who feel that the prom is just a thing that you can live without, you are right..but let me tell you this..i know of pple, teachers even,who regretted not gg to their school prom back them..so pls dun let yourself live this regret..

OPSS are paying less than $50 to have their prom at hotel penisular or something like that..
CCHSM, they going hilton hotel...price $70...
YTSS.. they having it at goodwood park hotel..ya.. the one beside far east ... each person need to pay $73...

why have i highlight these schools?
cause they have prom only because their school are willing to get their teachers to do it...
and even if they got school to help them in the funds, they are still payin more than us lar(if they are going to a equally good hotel)...

and some schools duv have lar...
AISS...got rumour students wanna plan but then it really was just an rumour.. some of the students there are asking if they can come to ours to make up the numbers..but that is not possible de lar...cause i know that our pple will eventually come de...pls dun let me be wrong...

hence, i seek your understanding that our progress is a little slow and pls bear with us but we would like to see those 'then once interested' to want to come now..

after o lvls le...take a night to just relax and enjoy..you friends can go thru this prom and build up your relation..

we seen the tags and heard some rumours... there is a need to clear things up..few issues,prom dates, teachers,and payment..

1st) PROM DATE
THERE IS NO NEED FOR ONE! this prom is a little different from the ones which need a prom date.. you can come together with your big group of friends(or small grp.. wateva.. you like can le..).. if you are really like to have a prom date, pls find one in our list of confirmed pple(you will have to check that out yourself though). this is so as we can't afford to have more pple coming to this party except who we know are coming..think abt food shortage.. the problems with the hotel staff when we exceed the no. of guest we have confirmed.. then because you ask them to come and we chase them out,the bad feelings *party-crashers,arguements,fights,blood*that will surface..hope you understand and get this clear..no prom date needed and if you insist, only pple in guest list only!

2nd)TEACHERS
WE CANNOT ACCEPT THEIR PRESENCE!there are not even seats for students(stars of the day).. teachers.. we tried to rope them in but due to this prom being a PRIVATE party, teachers cannot come..when teachers come, they will post a few problems.. one, we do something really crazy and the teachers may be wet blankets.. two,who know if they are feeling weird that day and do something that spoil their 'teacher image'.. three, teacher responsibility.VP told us this story.. there was a BBQ organised by a grp of students and they invited their teacher as a friend and not a teacher..then when two students got themselves drown, this teacher has to bear full responsibility..if our teacher come, then something bad happens, he/she may lose his/her job.. you want that?
four..1 teacher comes that means that all the others should have a chance to come and even if not all ,a handful can cause some of the problems listed above.. so do you get the whole picture? TEACHERS ARE NOT WELCOMED TO THIS PARTY!(if you really dun, get ong lai's no. frm someone and ring me up.. i will explain to you..)

3rd)PAYMENT
pls try to raise the money asap, then if you are afraid that you will squander the money away shortly after you get it, you can pay us shortly after you get the money.. although we stated that the date to collect the money is on the day we have our EL O lvls paper, you can pay earlier.. we can make use of these money to progress in planning..ong lai should be in school(when it is open) early from around 9am to 1pm at the library next week.. you can try to find him and pay him during these time.. remember..$68.. :) let your friends know abt this..

yup. the price has been changed.
it is now $68 nett.
reason being is that we dont have the school's support so we've got to fork out a little more ourselves.. -______-

we'll be collecting the money real soon so please prepare.

the attire will be sorta like formal.
dresses for the girls ( very much preferred ) *nods head*
no need for pooffy ballroom gowns. *shakes head*
you can put on makeup or set your hair if you want.

long sleeves and pants for the guys.
jeans is okay if it's nice.
you want to wear blazer also can.
you can also put on make up or perm your hair like PCK if you want. =X

i dont have to say too much for the attire because i'm sure you know what looks good and what doesnt. =)
just dress up nicely.
it's once in a lifetime, you know? =)

yo pple... (this is really long but i hope you take some time to read carefully.. ty)

after two long days of thinking things thru, we(BTS) have come to a conclusion.
we are going to hold the prom at the SAME PLACE and on the SAME DATE and SAME TIME.
BUT without teachers and principals.
and this is going to be a PRIVATE PARTY.
things will do carried on from where we paused to make this decision.

we had a meeting with the VP last thursday,
to try to get the school's approval and support.
it was a relaxing one and we enjoyed the meeting in his presence.
however, both parties had some issues we had to iron out.

the first was the school's support.
i can't make things too clear to prevent the damage to any party.
but generally, we dun have the school's support in this matter.
then a compromise was intiated, to hold the Prom in school and we MIGHT receive the sch's contributions.
contribution like financal assitance, roping external organizatios to teach us how to do ballroom dancing and decorate the multiple-purpose hall.

the second was to provide a chance for all the pupils, interested but missed the chance or can't afford to go to the prom.
that is theorically right for a 'school event'.
but it's really difficult to find somewhere that's good and nice for the prom now.
plus we have already confirmed with the hotel and we really dun want to dissapoint the nice catering manger.

these was the two main issues involved with other factors implicated.
today we are supposed to announce our decision during the graduation ceremony but i think there isn't a suitable time slot.
now that we have declared our decision for a private event
let the explaining begin.

the decision to plan the prom was definitely an impromtu one.
we only started after the prelims. which means that we dont have much time.
during this short period of time, we advanced rapidly with much efforts of the BTS and the sweat plus saliva of our trusted class-coordinators who haven failed the task we requested them to help in.
we can't afford to start all over again for the remaining pple who have not confirmed earlier
initially EVERYONE had equal chances to get involved in this event.
rmb the survey?
you guys said you dint want to have the prom in the school hall.
we still have to study and sit for our o levels just like all of you.
and we can't afford to make a whole group of pple with hopes disappointed.
we cannot pump in a whole new supply of efforts to start all over again.
sry for any inconvinence caused..

we had tore up the teachers invitation list and made more space for students.
the actual list will be updated tmr afternoon to see any vancant seats avaliable.
but the limit remaines. MAXIMUM: 110PERSONS.
some have backed out because of some factors and some are getting more attracted by this idea.

or you want to back out like some, let him know as well.

from today onwards, we will pick up from where we paused.

It is not convenient to say anthing yet.

all the hotels we shortlisted have sent their proposals over le(YEA!)... narrowing down to three hotels(Meritus Mandarin,Furama Riverfront and Grand Hyatt Singapore). All have their good and not-so-good points.. the BTSs are going to have a meeting to trouble over the venue and choose one as all three are very tempting..

yet we will use the weekend to do the things that has to be done...afher that, we will confirm the venue and price of the prom night on the night of sunday(8th oct).. So, plead your folks or save on your own .. get the money($55 to $65) ready to take the first step to a night of enjoyment.

just the updates for things we did today..

we have shrink the date frame to hold the prom.. we have made it from 25nov to 29nov.. so i think that means that you can plan more activities but pls keep these dates free..

then today we also received some proposals from a few hotels(pros and cons involved) and are still waiting for the other hotels to sent their proposals over..

in the process of sending our requests for the hotels proposals, we are quite frustrated by typing the same info again and again..haiz.. but for all of you there interested, we will hang on de.. dun wry..

thanks for responding to the survey..

we've called the hotels today like Hyatt, Equinox, Carlton, Rendezvous, and some more....

and we're currently waiting for their proposals..

so we're not going decide the venue just yet..

but it'll probably be between 21 nov to 29 nov..

and the prices that was quoted were all above $55 but less than $70.. ( start saving! )
